Not Me Monday...A Mommy Blog

Well, here I am again. I can't believe it's been this long since I posted. I hate my camera; I think it's a shame to post without some lovely pictures of my sweet boy. So....I haven't posted anything.

Ok, here goes....

I love to work. I love my job. So when one of my co-workers called me this morning to tell me that I was going to be put on-call for this evening...well 1st I gasped! What! On-Call! We're NOT supposed to be put ON Call! We have core staffing! There MUST be 3 nurses there at all times in case, well, you know....some lady comes in pregnant with triplets; her water broke; the cord is hanging out! (Ok, we don't deliver triplets here, we don't even HAVE any patients pregnant with triplets, that cord scenario has only happened 1 time in the 11 years as an L&D nurse. But, you see my point?)

Ramble much?

I was NOT secretly happy that they were putting me on call. I did NOT take an early shower, go to the store to get 'dinner fixin's' for a family dinner tonight. I did NOT put a pork roast in the crock pot to make the most lovely, tender, delicious pulled pork sandwiches you ever put in your mouth. I did NOT take a little cat nap in the recliner while watching The Young & The Restless. I don't watch that 'brain pudding!' (It wasn't on my DVR either)

I didn't have a little bit of drool running from the corner of my mouth when I received a text from said co-worker that said "We have a labor patient, dilated to 5 cm...You'll have to come in."

Damn those pregnant women. Spontaneous labor! Don't they know they are supposed to be induced on their Aunt Becky's 80's birthday next week?

I didnt' secretly curse said labor patient. Nope NOT me.

On another note, I did NOT feed G-Man a string cheese w/ Cheese-Itz for lunch. Nope, NOT me! I always prepare a lovely 4 course meal for him. (Okay we ate a nutritious breakfast Breakfast Burritos from McDonald's... really late; I knew he wouldn't be hungry for lunch &; you saw what I was whoppin' up for dinner...so need I say more?)

Thanks for listening to me ramble. I promise I'll write a rough draft before posting next time. This flight of ideas writing is kinda fun though.
