A visit to Santa...

Mom and Dad decided to take me to the Mall to see Santa.

Why am I upset here, you ask?

Mama put me in TIME OUT!

No really!
She put me in Time Out.
I was in the line to see the Fat Man and I was running around because I was excited
acting like a redneck heathen!

She asked me a couple hundred times to stand still or sit down on the bench.

I couldn't help myself.....

So, TIME OUT it was.

I could see Santa.
Mama had been telling me that Santa was watching me, but this time he REALLY was.
Dang. I blew it!

There was NO WAY I'd be getting my Dragon Lightning McQueen now.
(or my Official Red Ryder Carbine Action Two Hundred Shot Range Model Air Rifle)

Well, after my dissappointment meltdown, I dried my tears...

gave Dad a kiss & headed to the front of the line.

It was finally my turn

to tell him what I wanted.

Mom went with me, cause I was a little nervous.

I sat on his lap for a picture.

Got a candycane

(Hey, I thought I wasn't supposed to take candy from strangers!)

Oh, and I even gave him a hug!
I was totally sucking up!

It was a roller coaster of emotions.

I'll let you know how it turned out!

Can you Believe It?

I can't believe that it's been 3 short years since:

And 2 short years since this:

And this was only last year:

And now...

I'm opening presents.
I'm giddy about presents.
I LOVE Christmas.

Stay tuned for more posts about the holidays.

Mama wants a Printer!

You see this?
Mama is drooling as she's looking at this on The Pioneer Woman's website.
Head on over to enter to win it.
She wants you to have a chance too, but really what she wants is to win it!
Mom...
Mom...
Are you there Mom?
Oh, well, she'll tear herself away from her laptop in a little while.

You have to tell what is your favorite holiday recipe is. This is what Mama said:
"Sausage Balls. They are so simple but man they are good.
Sausage...good
Cheese...good
Carbs...good."

That's all I have to say about that. I don't even know what they are. Mama assured me that would change TODAY!

Lost in Translation....The Holiday Edition

With the holidays nearing, I thought I'd share some of the G-Man's newest vocab:

"Mama, I want to go wook at the Big 'o, Big 'O Drivin' Through
Cwismas Wights wif Nanar and  PaPaaaaawww".
(May we please go to the Holiday Lights?)

Wooodof = Rudolph

Ominence = Ornaments
(this took me several days to figure out what the heck he was talking about)

"Where is dat Cwazy Wittle Elf?"
(Mother, where is Christoper? He's our Elf on the Shelf)

Mama sing da Jesus in da Cradle song
(Away in a Manger. I'm just happy he doesn't call Jesus CheezeIts anymore.
I think the women at the Baptist Church were starting to judge us.)

The Pway Song
(It's the song from O' Brother Where Art Thou that Allison Krauss sings.)
see it here.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSif77IVQdY
Ok, this one is not a vocab, but I think it's funny!
Every time G-Man sees anything with horns on it he shoots us the "Hook Em Horns" sign. Sooo, we've been reading lots of books about the Nativity. When we were reading about some cattle are 'lowing', he shot us his best Hook Em Horns. It's funny to me & I giggle everytime. Maybe it's just me.
I'll post more as I hear them. We are having a blast with Christmas this year. Hope you are too.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Random Thankgiving Events:

Mama brined a Turkey.
(I have NO idea what that means. She boiled some stuff, threw that poor turkey in our ice chest, covered it with ice water & put it out in the garage? I don't get it)

She got up REALLY early to cook said turkey.
(What did that turkey ever do to her, anyway?)

Huge lunch at Nana & Papa's.
(I got to ask the blessing.
Thanks to Miss Buffy & Miss GoGo
for teaching me that one)

Turkey.
Pea salad
(who knew this could be so tasty?)
green beans

played with cousins

dancing

Jerry Lee Lewis' Greatest Hits

Rain/Sleet/35 degrees/blistering winds

Huge lunch at NiNi & PaPaw's

more turkey
(seriously?)
corn
rolls

No one understands that I don't like mushy stuff:
mashed potatoes
Sweet potatoes
pumpkin pie
dressing
gravy
cranberry sauce

Mama kept trying to sneak this stuff in. I wasn't having it.

Football

Rain/Sleet/35 degree weather with blistering winds

3 1/2 hour nap

evening with my Daddy
(Mama had to work)

Overall a good Thanksgiving!

(P.S. Can a boy get some HAM next year?)

Christmas Came Early!

A couple of weeks ago, I spent the day with my Nana and Papa.
Mama and Daddy said the were going "Shopping".
Whatever.
Later that afternoon, they brought me back home.
LOOK WHAT I FOUND IN THE BACKYARD!

a TWAMPOWEEN!

Oh, how I've dreamed of my very own trampoline!
There is a trampoline at my daycare, but we aren't allowed to jump on it.
But this one,
is all mine.
I can jump on it as much as I want.
All by myself...

WAIT A MINUTE...
What is Papa doing up here?

He can jump too!

Oh YES he can!

He can bounce on his booty too!

That's amazing!

That is funny!

DO IT AGAIN PAPA!

Who says you can't teach an ol' dog new tricks.
I am having a blast on this thing.

A VERY busy Halloween weekend.

Wow, I've had a VERY busy few days.

Friday morning, Mama, Daddy and all the kiddos from my daycare loaded up in a big 'ol bus and headed out to the Pumkin Patch.

We got to see some goats, chickens, a big pig named Hamlet and a bunny.
We got to find our way through a maze.

We loaded up on a trailer for a hayride down to the pumpkin patch.
We listened to a short talk about how to pick the perfect pumpkin and how to treat our pumpkins.

Here's the one I brought home...

We got to dress a Scarecrow
(Well, I watched Mama & Dad dress a scarecrow)

Here i am sitting on a (wet) hay bale, practicing my 'Hook 'Em Horns' sign.
This is me and my Mama.
(What's that? I'm never looking at the camera?
Funny, she says the same thing.)

"WOW, dis is a reawy BIG punkin!"

We took some pictures.
We had a picnic lunch.
Then we loaded up on the big bus and headed back.
For the 1st time I slept at TGP (my daycare).
Mama tucked me in.
I'm not really sure why she was teary-eyed when she left...

She picked me up a little while later and we went to Nana's house for supper.
Then I got dressed up for Fright Night.
I had no clue what this was, but WOW!
Tons of people were dressed up in costumes swarming around the Municipal Building.
There was candy everywhere.
A band playing groovy music I could dance to.
Pretty neat.

 I'm a VIKING!

 "What's in YOUR wallet?"

Mom says that taking pictures of me is like nailing jello to a tree.

I'm not really sure what that means.

All I was trying to do was play with my "Chop,Chop"

She wanted me to SIT STILL!

Silly Mama!

Saturday night, I spent the night with Nana while Mama and Daddy went to a party.
She took me to our church's Pumpkins in the Park.
Hayrides, fishing, candy, crafts.
What's not to love?

Sunday night, I got all dressed up again.

Here's my Mama & Daddy before we went to Monsters on Main Street.

"I wanna walk by my lone!"

Here I am after walking a whole 3 blocks.

Boy am I tired!
We headed back to Nana's house and guess what we did then?
People came up to the door and we gave them candy.
I don't understand WHY we were giving our perfectly good candy to someone else.
It was a BUNCH of candy too!
I just don't understand it.
Anyway...
Trick or Treating is HARD work.
I need to rest up for next year.

My Mama.....She's been kinda mopey.

My Mama has been kinda mopey.
You see, she is leaving one of her 1st loves.
Her job.
She 'takes care of babies'.
Mama says she takes care of Mamas & their babies.
She loves it.
A LOT.
But...
she's got a new love now.
Me.
She told me this morning that Daddy will be feeding me breakfast in the mornings.
Daddy will be taking me to GoGo's house
I will be eating lunch there instead of with her.
I'll be napping
or
NOT
at her house now.
BUT
Mama will be picking me up now.
Not that I don't like it when Dad picks me up,
it's just that it's been the other way around for so long.
Mama
will
be
home
at
night.
for dinner
for wrestle time
for jumping on da 'twampoween' time
for reading time
for cuddling time
and for tucking me in
and singing me lullabys

So, you see, this is bittersweet for her.
She really loves her peeps at the hospital.
You know who you are!

You have seen her through:
dating my Daddy for 10 years
A quick engagement
A Vegas Wedding
a long 5 year wait for a decision to have a baby
a long pregnancy
a long labor
a long delivery
a long maternity leave
tearful phone calls during maternity leave
(I mean a LOT of phone calls)

she loves you
and will miss all of you terribly

but i won't lie...
I think it's GREAT!

Family Vacation to 'Da Farm'

"My Papa has dis farm. He calls it da Huntin' Wodge" (The Hunting Lodge).

Ok, this is Mama. I'm taking over the blog from here. There is a chunk of property in Northern Oklahoma that my Stepdad bought w/ 2 of his brothers-in-law for huntin' purposes. It is in the middle of nowhere. It is several miles on a dirt road. It's about a mile to the closest neighbor (who is his cousin). Da Farm is 30 minutes from a little tiny town called Cherokee. Cherokee is kind of like Mayberry. (If you don't know what Mayberry is, maybe you should just skip this blog entry alltogether). There is one blinking light. There is an ALCO store (imagine Walmart 30 years ago) and a United Grocery Store. No Sonic. No McDonalds. No Walmart. There is 1 gas station. It is a farming community.

We decided that it would be fun to pack it up and head to Da Farm for the week. Nana, Papa, Aunt JiJi and Mr. JiJi joined us there. We stayed in a little farmhouse. Said farmhouse is around 90 years old. We piled in there like the Clampetts. (Sorry for all the 60's TV show references, but seriously, 7 people in a small farmhouse was kinda funny)

To sum up our week-long adventure:

6 hour drive with toddler

Very high pollen and ragweed count

3 yummy meals every day that we took turns cooking

Dishes after 3 meals a day

1 bathroom

4-wheeler rides

17 pregnant cows
&
1 newborn calf

(Oh, MY! G-Man named it BUD)

2 lazy springer spaniel dogs

1 rabbit (we couldn't very well leave him at home)

Skunks

Snakes

Spiders

Countless white-tailed deer

A big, fat raccoon (God rest his soul, who is no longer with us)

Sleepless nights due to coughing fits of allergy ridden toddler

Baths in a copper tub

Inside

and outside

Windmill climbing (I'll blog about that soon, I promise)

4 wheeler crash (the only thing injured was my ego)

(You see that smashed down grass? You know, where it looks like a Buffalo has been nesting? That's where the crash occurred. The crime scene, if you will...You see that wire going through the middle of the pic? That's the electric fence, used to keep the cattle in. My head was about a foot from it. Someone was watching over me.)

Sprained ankle (Sorry, Nana)

Doctorin' Nana's sore foot

Big Red Tractor

Potty training toddler who liked to pee on the tractor tires

Minimal cell phone service

Field trip to a small town in Kansas for the best lunch ever!

Mushroom swiss Burger with curly fries.

Grilled Chicken with Swiss and bacon.

Oh, and fried pickle spears. Holy Moly those were good!

All you could see for miles and miles

was blue skies and plowed fields.
Field trip to Cherokee for groceries & some alone time with Husband

5 hour drive home

We had a great time. Next time we will pre-medicate with many days of allergy meds.
