Well, folks. This if my 1st trip down to blogville. I've been reading my friend Finn's blog page & thought, hey if he can do it, then I can too. How hard can it be anyway? These pictures were taken on a pretty December day for our annual Christmas card photo. Ironically, a tornado blew through a few blocks away later that night. We had raked all of our leaves up into a big pile for the pics, none of them or the rake had moved. Just 4 blocks away, people's homes were destroyed...rooms, roofs, trees... gone. We were so lucky.
I just turned a year old. I'm walking really well now, although Mom says I look like a baby orangutan. I stick my tongue out whenever I am concentrating really hard on something.
I don't mean to brag, but I've been sleeping all night for a few months now. This is because of my Dad. He read some book he found on the internet about "Sleep Training" (who the heck thought of this nonsense, anyway). He fed me a bottle, then guess what he did? He lay me in my crib.... awake! Can you believe that? So, of course, I cried. Yep, I cried for 33 minutes before I decided to give it up & go to sleep. He did come in & check on me, but he wouldn't pick me up. So, the 2nd night. He did it again. I only fussed for 3 minutes. The 3rd night... I thought what the heck? I didn't cry at all. The looks on their faces when they come to get me in the morning are priceless. "He slept all night." "Those people in that book were right."
Mom was starting to look a little haggard, so now when I see her in the morning she actually looks... I don't know what word to use: rested. And my Dad, he says when Mama is happy, everyone is happy. Until next time...
